Mustang Chess Update!
At the second league match of the year last weekend November 22, Manzanita sent three teams, with a total of nine players, to compete. They performed very well. The Primary team (for players grade K-3) finished in second place in their section, while the Elementary A team landed in first place, overall! The Elementary B-team placed in the middle. The Primary players were Evan Yin, Gabriel Lopez-Diggins, Jesse DeLong and Bodhi Sethi; the Elementary players were Yulia Savine, Austin Troike, Isabelle Simon, Dev Patel and Franklyn DeLong. Our players won awards individually as well: ribbons went to Isabelle, Jesse, Franklyn and Gabriel, and trophies for perfect scores went to Yulia and Austin.
