17-18 Future 6th Graders

Important message for the Parents of 5th Grade Students

This is a reminder that Arizona law requires that all incoming 6th grade students have proof of the following vaccinations by the first day of school for the 2017-2018 School Year:

1. Tdap – 1 dose is required when 5 years has passed since the last Tetanus shot and the student is at least 11 years old.

2. Meningococcal – 1 dose is required for all incoming 6th graders, 11 years and older.

If you have any questions about the vaccination requirements please contact your school health office.

If your child receives these immunizations before the end of the current school year, please bring in the documentation to the health office at your elementary school so that we may update our records.

If your child receives these immunizations over the summer, they may be turned in to your Middle School Front office, emailed or faxed to the numbers below.

17-18 Manzanita FFO Budget Approval

2017/2018 Manzanita FFO Budget Approval
Required on or before May 5th, 2017

The 2017/2018 Proposed FFO Budget was presented at the last executive FFO meeting on March 17th and is being sent to all Manzanita Families for review and approval.  The Proposed Budget (highlighted in yellow in the attached document) will be voted on by ballot at the final FFO meeting of the year on Friday, May 5th, 2017 from 8:15 am – 9:15 am.  The list of Executive Officers for the Board are also attached and will be voted on as well.  You may come vote in person or you may vote in the front office any time before May 5th.  All votes will be tallied by the FFO Secretary at the meeting.

Other information, such as the year-to-date actuals (as of 4/20/17) and last year’s final approved budget, are provided alongside the Proposed Budget for your reference.  Please note that not all activity has occurred so we will continue to come in closer to budget for these items.  We are budgeting very closely to last year’s approved budget, with adjustments for expected class sizes, where necessary.  We have aligned the budget to be in synch with the tax return so there have been changes to accounts and their purposes, but there have been no major changes.  A copy of our latest FFO financial statements are attached and are available in the front office or on the FFO website at http://manzanitaffo.org/.

Thank you for your tremendous support throughout the year.  As a result, we are close to reaching our budget goals for 2016/2017, while providing all of the student enrichment opportunities (attached) and other services outlined in the budget.  We look forward to another successful year in 2017/2018.

If you have any questions about the budget, please contact any of the following:

Ravi Swett, FFO Treasurer

Melissa Royer, FFO President

Kim Boling, Manzanita Elementary School Principal

Future OGMS 6th Graders

Hello Future OGMS 6th Grade Families,

We are excited to have you at Orange Grove next year. I know it can be an exciting and anxious process and one way to make it smoother is to take care of school supply shopping for you. Below is a link to our school supply kits that are available for pre purchase. Participation is totally optional but we have found it to be very helpful and affordable for families. If you chose to purchase the 6th grade kit they will be available for you at our Pick Up and Unpack events in August as we prep for the first day of school. More information and dates of PUUP (Pick Up and Unpack) will be coming your way over the summer.
